What our clients say...

"We started to think about moving house about a year ago and needed mortgage advice on available options open to us. We had been fortunate enough to have Richard Wylder recommended to us when we were planning on our daughter going to university for 5 years and how we would manage financially and pay a large mortgage. We contacted Richard again to talk through potential mortgages and what would be the best option for us. Tom and Richard offer a personalised approach and find a mortgage that fits with your needs/situation rather than you having to having to accept a mortgage to fit with the bank/building society’s agenda."

Understanding equity release

Equity release, often called a ‘lifetime mortgage’, lets you unlock tax-free cash from your home without the need to move or sell. You can either borrow against your property’s value or sell part of it in exchange for a lump sum or regular income. Some plans even allow you to withdraw extra funds later if needed. Designed for homeowners aged 55 and over, equity release is available whether you own your home outright or still have a mortgage (which must be repaid using the funds released).

Is equity release safe?

Yes. Equity release is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), ensuring strict consumer protection. As a proud member of the Equity Release Council, we follow their standards to safeguard your interests. Plus, with a lifetime mortgage, you’ll never owe more than the sale price of your home—so long as it’s sold for the best price reasonably achievable.

How can you use equity release?

The money is yours to spend however you wish. Whether you want to renovate your home, buy a new car, clear debts, or simply enjoy a more comfortable retirement, equity release gives you financial freedom.
